RTP Comparison Database
The same slot pays differently
at every casino.
Operators configure RTP on a slot game individually. The difference between the highest and lowest RTP settings on the same game can be as much as 4 percentage points. We keep tabs on all of these settings so you know before you play.

The problem most players never know about
You select the slot you would like to play and load it up. What you may not know is that the casino decides which RTP a slot game will have when they purchase the rights to it. It does not have to be the highest RTP available for that game.
Operators pick the RTP
The creators of slot games, such as Pragmatic Play and Hacksaw Gaming, include multiple RTP settings for every slot they create. The casino that purchases the rights to play the slot on their site can select which RTP the slot will have while they are in operation. This is legal for casinos to do but is not advertised to players.
It's invisible in the game
The help menu for slot games will display only the RTP that has been configured into the slot by the casino. There is no way for players to see the maximum possible RTP for a slot game. Players may not even know that there is a maximum RTP for every slot game. Casinos do not all use the same RTP settings for slot games.
It adds up over time
The difference in RTP percentages may seem low. However, over a £500 session at a slot machine, a 4% difference in RTP will result in a casino returning around £20 more to players. The longer a player plays, the more the difference in RTP becomes apparent.
Why 4% matters more than you think
Slots such as Le Bandit by Hacksaw Gaming showcase a 4.17 percentage point difference between the best and worst RTP settings for casinos. See how this percentage becomes pounds in players' pockets during a typical playing session.

Remember that RTP stands for Return to Player and is a long-term statistical average. Short term sessions may have higher or lower results than the RTP percentage for that slot game. Learn how RTP works.
How we verify every RTP figure
All of the RTP percentages that we display on our database have been verified by the same process for every slot game we track.
Open the game at each casino
We load the real game into a live casino. This is not a demo slot machine, as the RTP for demo machines can be different from the actual game.
Read the in-game help screen
Licensed slot games must display the RTP of the game in the in-game information panel. This percentage is recorded in every game individually on our website.
Cross-check against the provider range
The RTP percentages recorded for every slot game on our database have been confirmed to fall within the official percentage range published by the game creators.
Check the casino's public RTP page
Most licensed UK and MGA casinos publish a full RTP page for slot games. This confirms the RTP settings for each game they carry.
Update regularly
Casinos are able to change the RTP settings for the slot games that they license. However, our slot game comparison pages are reviewed on a rolling basis to ensure that the data is up to date on any changes to the slots.

Understand RTP before you play
The more you know about slot machines, the better decisions you will make. Learn more about RTP and volatility in our guides.
What is RTP and how is it calculated?
RTP stands for Return to Player. The percentage indicates the portion of all money that is wagered on a slot machine that will be paid back to players after millions of spins.
Read guide → GuideRTP vs volatility - what's the difference?
Volatility determines the frequency of wins that a slot game will pay out to players. However, volatility does not have an impact on the RTP of a slot game.
Read guide → GuideHow do casinos configure a slot's RTP?
Casinos do not modify the RTP settings of a slot game. The casinos only select from a range of RTP percentages that have been set by the slot game developer when the games are licensed to them.

Is it legal for casinos to run lower RTP settings?
Yes. Regulators such as the UKGC and the MGA set a minimum RTP floor - 70% in the UK. There is no requirement to use the highest available setting. Casinos can select any RTP configuration within the developer's published range, as long as it meets the legal minimum.
Does RTP guarantee I'll win back that percentage?
The RTP percentage for a slot game is calculated over hundreds of millions of spins. Short-term results can vary significantly from the published RTP. A slot machine with a 96% RTP will pay out 96% of all money wagered on the game over a very long period of time.
How do I find the RTP of a game I'm playing?
Find the help or information button on the screen for the slot game. The percentage will be listed in the help section of the slot game. This shows the RTP the casino is running for that game. Use the slot game comparison pages on our website to see if another casino offers a higher RTP for the same game.
Do all casinos offer every game?
Slots games are not available at all casinos. Some casinos license only certain games. Our comparison tables show which casinos license a particular slot game and what RTP each casino runs for that game.
How often do you update the RTP data?
Our slot game comparisons tables are reviewed on a rolling basis to ensure that all data is up to date. Casinos may change the RTP for the games that they license. Any games that are added or removed from a casino's licensing library will also be reflected on our website. Each slot game comparison page will display the date on which we verified the data published on that page.
